Maintenance Chemotherapy With Tegafur-Uracil vs Observation for Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer

Keiichi Fujiwara, MD, PhD, Saitama Medical University International Medical Center, discusses findings from a phase 3 trial, showing that although well-tolerated, maintenance chemotherapy using tegafur-uracil for 2 years after definitive chemoradiation therapy did not improve progression-free survival (PFS) or overall survival (OS) among patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.

Dr Fujiwara presented these results at the 2022 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress.
