Incidence of Endometrial Cancer Among BRCA1/2 Mutation Carriers

Steven Narod, MD, Women’s College Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, discusses a prospective analysis aiming to determine whether people who harbor germline pathogenic variants in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes are at an increased risk for endometrial cancer.

The study results found there were higher rates of endometrial cancer among young BRCA mutation carriers, though the lifetime risks were similar. This study was not able to conclusively confirm an increased risk of endometrial cancer among people with BRCA mutations.

Transcript to come.
