Patient Assaults Kansas City EMS Provider

April 30--A Kansas City ambulance worker was kicked in the head and punched in the face Saturday by a patient who was believed to be under the influence of PCP.

The 31-year-old suspect was in police custody today. The condition of the ambulance crew member was not available. She was taken to a hospital after the incident, according to police reports.

The Kansas City Fire Department ambulance responded to a call of someone having a seizure just after noon Saturday in the 2400 block of Park Avenue. Inside the ambulance, the patient became violent and assaulted the worker, according to police.

Officers arrived and used a stun gun on the suspect before subduing him.
