Wound Care Startup Choses Tech Company for Design
01/11/2018
Vitruvian Medical Devices (Berkeley, CA), a startup wound care company based out of the University of California Berkley, has chosen zGlue, a semiconductor/software as a service company, to develop its new Sentinel Bandage. The latter company will use its unique integration platform to build the bandage’s system on a chip, drastically reducing the time to market and cost to develop the bandage’s design.
The smart bandage, a flexible, noninvasive, disposable product, passes small currents through a 2-dimensional array of electrodes. Rapid, automated measurements then create a map of impedance differences that distinguishes healthy and damaged skin.
