Positive Results for Oxygen Therapy System

EO2 Concepts (San Antonio, TX) announced the positive results from 2 recent studies of its innovative, wearable EO2 Oxygen Delivery System for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers with continuous diffusion of oxygen. Both studies were recently presented at the International Skin Integrity and Infection Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first study, a double-blind, randomized trial, demonstrated significant improvements in the primary outcome of complete wound closure at 12 weeks of treatment. Wounds that received the treatment performed 195% better than those who received a placebo device, and patients with complex wounds were more than 3 times as likely to experience wound closure with treatment than standard of care alone.

The second study evaluated the effectiveness and pain reduction properties of the therapy system. Notably, the treatment was found to reduce pain in all 20 study patients, with some patients reporting relief within hours of application.
