New Medical Director for the Wound Program at Clements University Hospital
Paul J Kim, DPM, MS is joining the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He has been named the Medical Director of the Wound Program at Clements University Hospital. He will have the dual appointment of Professor in Plastic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. He will oversee all aspects of the inpatient and outpatient wound program which includes a multidisciplinary team of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physical Therapists, and Nurses. He is joining a highly respected team that includes Lawrence Lavery, DPM, MPH, Dane Wukich, MD, Javier LaFontaine, DPM, George Liu, DPM, and Katherine Raspovic, DPM. Dr. Kim states “I am honored to join such a fabulous group of dedicated researchers and clinicians. My hope is to enhance an already great program”.
He will be leaving a world-renowned Wound Program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington DC. He has the rank of Professor of Plastic Surgery and Vice Chair of Research for MedStar Health Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Kim states “I have grown as a researcher and a surgeon in the past 9 years. I am forever thankful to the people and hospital that have unwaveringly supported my professional development.” He will be leaving his partners Christopher Attinger, MD, John Steinberg, DPM, Karen Evans MD, and Cameron Akbari MD. Dr. Attinger states “Paul’s dedication to research to improve patient outcomes has made this program much better than it was before. He leaves a legacy of over 100 publications and have positively impacted the lives of 1000s of patients. We will miss him and wish him the best at UTSW”. He will begin his tenure at UTSW at the end of April.
