New 1-Ounce Sized Gel Promotes Healing

A new 1-ounce size of Prontosan Wound Gel X (B. Braun Medical, Inc, Bethlehem, PA) is now available in the United States market. This patient-friendly, smaller tube is a convenient and economical size for home care. Like the larger 250-mg size, this gel facilitates autolytic debridement. The clear and virtually odorless gel uses a combination of betaine and polyhexanide to enable exudate removal and inhibit microorganism growth. It is indicated for use on diabetic foot, leg, and pressure ulcers; first- and second-degree burns; partial- and full-thickness wounds; and surgical incisions.
