Fish Skin Heals Wounds Faster Than Allograft

A recent clinical study found that wounds treated with Omega3 Wound from Kerecis (Arlington, VA) healed significantly faster than wounds treated with a human amniotic membrane allograft. The results were unveiled at the annual American Podiatric Medical Association meeting in July 2018.

Each of the patients in the 85-participant study had two 4-mm wounds, one of which was treated with the fish skin product and the other with the allograft. The study found that the fish skin product promoted faster wound healing and that more fish skin-treated wounds achieved closure than the allograft-treated wounds.
