First Referral Algorithm for Wound Care Industry

To help connect wound care specialists and local communities, Wound Care Advantage (Sierra Madre, CA) has created the FlightPlan, the industry’s first referral source algorithm. The algorithm makes it easy to identify local physicians capable of treating patients in need of advanced wound therapies. It also was designed to reduce the time for a wound program to connect with a community and to better track and manage community educational efforts.

Beta testing for the algorithm was conducted in 3 states at several different facilities. Each center saw improvement in multiple key metrics, including a 38% increase in total visits, 30% increase in active physicians, and increased engagement with local wound care specialist who had not referred in over 6 months.
