Clearance Granted for New Proprietary Wound Matrix

The US Food and Drug Administration has cleared the Phoenix Wound Matrix (RenovoDerm; Columbus, OH), a fully resorbable synthetic graft similar to the extracellular matrix. The product can be used to treat acute and chronic wounds as well as burns. After several animal studies and cases, the wound matrix demonstrated the ability to stimulate dermal tissue regeneration, including sweat glands and hair follicles. It has also been shown to accelerate the body’s healing response, reduce scar formation, and enhance overall appearance.
