Wound Center Joins Management Company
Hutchinson (KS) Regional Medical Center has announced a new partnership with management company Wound Care Advantage (WCA) for its wound care and hyperbaric center. The wound center was established in 2006 to service patients in Hutchinson and the surrounding area, including central and western Kansas, eastern Colorado, and northwestern Oklahoma.
“We’re committed to bringing high quality wound care services to patients in Hutchinson and surrounding areas as we enter this exciting phase of growth,” said Ken Johnson, chief executive officer of Hutchinson Regional. “When we first met with [WCA], we knew [they were] the ideal partner because they share our ‘patient-first’ philosophy. Everything else flows from that, including new technologies, tools, compliance checks, and analytics that bring a whole new level of terrific treatment options to our center.”
Hutchinson Regional is a not-for-profit, 199-licensed bed medical facility serving the needs of more than 65,000 community residents. WCA is headquartered in Sierra Madre, CA.
Wound Center Names New Director
The Wound Care Center at Harrington has named Anna Piascik as its new director, according to officials at Harrington Healthcare System, Southbridge, MA.
Piascik was most recently the director of operations for Fresenius Medical Care North America, where she was responsible for the financial, quality, and regulatory activities of eight dialysis facilities in Connecticut and previously in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
“We are pleased to welcome Anna to our Harrington family,” said Pam Zouranjian Connor, executive director of satellite operations at Harrington. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership, which will complement the growth of our wound care services.”
As director of the wound care center, Piascik is responsible for the implementation, ongoing management, and strategic growth of the program, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy. She received her bachelor of science from Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA, and her master of business administration from Regis University in Denver, CO.
Hyperbaric Fellow Joins Wound Center
Norman McCulloch Jr., MD, MBA, has joined the medical staff at Hamilton Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, Dalton, GA, according to a report by The Daily Citizen. A fellow in hyperbaric medicine, McCulloch received bachelor’s and master’s of business administration degrees from Syracuse University and attended the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences for medical school. He completed a fellowship in undersea and hyperbaric medicine at State University of New York Medical University and a residency in internal medicine at NYU’s Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. He’s the first hyperbaric specialist to be staffed in the wound center, according to the report.
New Wound Center Opens in Georgia
Officials at Coffee Regional Medical Center, Douglas, GA, have announced the opening of Advanced Wound Healing & Hyperbarics, an outpatient facility offering comprehensive wound care, according to The Douglas Enterprise.
The staff includes Romulo Navarro, MD (general surgery), Thomas Wehmann, DO, FACOS, CWS (general and peripheral vascular surgery), and Nicole E. Wilson, DPM (podiatry).
Navarro has been practicing in Coffee County for more than 56 years, according to the report.
The wound care team features physicians, nurses, and technicians with advanced training in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
