Baum Harmon Mercy Hospital, Primghar, IA, has opened a new outpatient wound care clinic. The hospital is a partner with Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City. Jackson Hospital, Marianna, FL, recently welcomed the first patient in it’s newly developed Highway 90 Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center to receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment. According to the Jackson County Floridian, Donna Harrison, holds the distinction of being the facility’s first patient treated in the onsite chamber. Harrison lives with diabetes and is undergoing care for a chronic wound on her toe. She’s expected to require 4-6 weeks of treatment. 

 

S. Darrell Lee, MD, a provider on staff at the Martin Wound Care Center in Port St. Lucie, FL, is celebrating 25 years of service as a physician, according to the TC Palm.

Lee graduated from New York Medical College, where he also completed his residency training in general surgery, and earned his board certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery and completed his fellowship in plastic surgery at the Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. Lee also serves as an ambassador of the American Society of Plastic Surgeon and is the official plastic surgeon of the St. Lucie Mets baseball team. He has held the position of chief of the medical staff at St. Lucie Medical Center and served as chairman of the credentialing committee and chief of surgery. 

 

Renovations for the outpatient wound care department at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff, WI, are part of a multi-phased remodeling and construction project that began for the facility in April, according to a report by The Lakeland Times. 

Included in the work will be the development and extension of road access to the campus in an effort to improve the commute for patients seeking care as well as to enhance traffic flow and safety in parking areas. Updates to facilities housing outpatient therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and the emergency department are also planned.
