Today’s Wound Clinic Appoints Jayesh B. Shah, MD, To Editorial Advisory Board
Effective Feb. 1, Today’s Wound Clinic (TWC) is proud to announce the addition of Jayesh B. Shah, MD, UHM (ABPM), CWSP, FAPWCA, FCCWS, FUHM, FACP, FACHM, to its editorial advisory board. Dr. Shah is president of South Texas Wound Associates, San Antonio, TX, where he has provided clinical wound care services for 17 years; president of San Antonio-based TIMEO2 Healing Concepts LLC, an organization that provides consulting and education services in wound care and hyperbaric medicine; medical director of the Wound Healing Center at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio; co-medical director of Mission Trail Baptist Wound Healing Center in San Antonio; president of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine, Austin, TX; and a member of the board of trustees at the
Austin-based Texas Medical Association.

He published the first two editions of the Wound Care Certification Study Guide in 2011 and 2016; the Textbook of Chronic Wound Care: An Evidence-Based Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment in 2018; and created the WoundDoctor app, a comprehensive wound care resource tool for physicians, nurses, and physical therapists that is available for the iPhone, Android, and iPad. He has authored more than 40 chapters on wound topics in four books and more than 30 scientific articles in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. As assistant editor of the Journal of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists, he authors a column on certification examination in wound care.  To his credit, Dr. Shah is the recipient of the Paul James Sheffield Education Award for Lifetime Dedication to Education in the Field of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine (2014); the Jefferson C. Davis Memorial Award for Excellence in Clinical Hyperbaric Medicine (2007 and 2011); the Carolyn Sue Award (2009); the Young Scientist/Medical Doctor Award (2008); and the Community Service and Leadership Award by the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce (2008).

, a founding member of the Today’s Wound Clinic (TWC) editorial advisory board, has recently been spotlighted by the NAHRI (National Association of Healthcare Revenue Integrity) for her dedication to the fields of documentation, billing, coding, and reimbursement. 

Schaum, president and founder of Kathleen D. Schaum & Associates Inc., Lake Worth, FL, was recently featured with a profile in the NAHRI Journal, the NAHRI’s Revenue Integrity Insider, and an e-newsletter that was published Jan. 23. One who has been working in various healthcare reimbursement positions for more than 50 years and has been involved in wound care reimbursement strategy for more than 20 years, Schaum is also a member of the NAHRI and writes two TWC columns – Business Briefs and Consultation Corner.
