Product Description: 
Grafix is a cryopreserved placental membrane comprised of an extracellular matrix rich in collagen, growth factors, fibroblasts, mesenchymal stem cells, and epithelial cells native to the tissue. Flexible and conforming, Grafix is designed for application directly to hard-to-treat acute and chronic wounds including, but not limited to, diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), venous leg ulcers (VLUs), pressure ulcers, surgical dehiscence, and thermal burns.

Product’s Role in Wound Care: 
Grafix is a cryopreserved human placental membrane for use in the advanced management of acute and chronic wounds. As a placental matrix, Grafix serves as a barrier from the environment and thus protects the tissue from infection, reduces inflammation, and reduces scarring by supporting wound closure without excessive fibrosis.

How Is the Product Unique?
Grafix is processed using Osiris Therapeutics Inc.’s proprietary BioSmart™ technology. Grafix is processed to maintain the extracellular matrix, growth factors, and endogenous cells found in fresh placental membranes, which includes epithelial cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and fibroblasts.

Are variations/models of The product available/planned?
Grafix is available in a variety of sizes to provide optimal wound coverage and reduce costs and waste from initial application through wound closure. Sizes include: 5x5 cm, 3x4 cm, 2x3 cm, 1.5x2 cm, and a 14 mm disc.

Is Reimbursement Available for the Product?
Osiris Therapeutics’ commitment to regenerative medicine focuses on all types of hard-to-treat wounds, including DFUs and VLUs. Reimbursement varies by payer, contract terms, and site of service. As such, providers are responsible for verifying coverage with the patient’s insurance carrier, including the applicability of any noncoverage decisions for Grafix. Grafix is available for purchase through Osiris Therapeutics and is utilized throughout the United States in the hospital inpatient and outpatient wound care clinic setting. Additionally, Grafix is available at Veterans Affairs Hospitals as well as in the physician office setting
