Dedication

February 2011

The Today’s Wound Clinic staff would like to dedicate this issue to our co-clinical editor Dot Weir’s husband—Robin Duane Weir.

Robin passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, after a courageous 4-year battle with kidney cancer. Born July 31, 1950, Robin was a lifelong resident of Orlando, Fla. graduating from Edgewater High School and in 1972 graduated as part of the charter class of Florida Technological University (now University of Central Florida). During college, he was one of the original 20 founding brothers of the FTU chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity where he made so many lifelong friends. He had a great career in the wholesale pharmaceutical industry, getting his start at Allen Drug Company in Orlando, Fla. He recently retired from Amerisource Bergen Drug Company, and in November received the company's first Lifetime Contribution Award for 30 years of service. He loved playing golf and enjoyed a 19-year membership at West Orange Country Club in Winter Garden. Robin was preceded in death by his father, William C. Weir, Jr. and his sister, Laura Lee Weir, and his nephew William C. Weir, IV. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dorothy (Dot) Weir, his mother, Grace Morgan Weir, and his brother, William C. Weir, III. He also leaves behind a large family to whom he was an extraordinary, loving, and generous son, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, and great-uncle, and numerous friends who were a great source of love and strength during his illness. A memorial service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, Fla.

Condolences may be offered in the form of a donation to the charity of your choice.
