Insurance Delays in the Approval of Biologic Medications for Patients With Psoriasis

In this feature video, The Dermatologist met with Drs Maderal and Vazquez to discuss their recent review of a university health system’s records which showed that “the need for a prior authorization was significantly associated with long waits.”

Andrea D. Maderal, MD, is an assistant professor in the Dr Phillip Frost department of dermatology and cutaneous surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL. 

Thomas Vazquez, MD, is a resident in the combined internal medicine and dermatology residency program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
