The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants’ (SDPA) Annual Summer Dermatology Conference 2017 will be held from June 1-4 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, CA. SDPA, a 501c6 nonprofit organization, has more than 2700 members.
Pre-Conference Program
The Aesthetics and Correctives Pre-Conference program day is scheduled for May 31, 2017, which is approved for 11.0 CAT I CME credits by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. The full-day program features both a didactic and demonstration component. The didactic portion, led by Glynis Ablon, MD, Dore John Gilbert, MD, and Gennady Rubinstein MD, provides an overview of aesthetic and corrective procedures. Light/laser based therapies, filler and neurotoxin review, as well as updates in cosmeceuticals, skin tightening, and scar treatment will be discussed. These lecture-based sessions are designed to provide essential knowledge for any practitioner with an interest in the aesthetic and cosmetic field.
The live demonstration sessions, led by Suneel Chilukuri, MD, will feature industry leading corrective products, such as neurotoxin and fillers. In addition, reconstitution methods, injection techniques, as well as ways to optimize outcome and patient satisfaction will be discussed.
Extended Education Sessions
An array of Extended Education Sessions will run during the conference. These sessions have a limited capacity (30 participants) and are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Topics include Radical Therapeutic Pearls: Based on the Basics; Immunology and Dermatology: What You Need to Know; The Itchy Patient: Diagnosis and Therapy; Dermatology PA (DPAF) Foundation Clinical Research Panel “Let’s Get Started,” and Board Prep.

Numerous special events will be held throughout the meeting including an arrival reception, DPAF Virtual 5k Run/Walk in support of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation Sailing San Diego Bay, The Cork and Canvas VIP Reception, Membership Meeting, complimentary head shots, and more.
