DNA to Host Virtual Psoriasis Symposium

The Dermatology Nurses' Association (DNA) announced that it will host its first virtual symposium on Saturday, November 10, 2012. The virtual symposium, which will focus on psoriasis, will offer a unique educational format for dermatology and primary care nurses, and nurse practitioners managing psoriasis patients.

Leading dermatology professionals Lakshi Aldredge, MSN, ANP-BC, Susan Tofte, RN, MS, FNP-C, and Stephanie Kemmerling FNP-C, will host the event, covering the causes and treatment options of psoriasis while providing attendees with resources and support services for psoriasis patients.  Attendees are encouraged to walk the virtual exhibit hall, interact with leading dermatology service providers and participate in a live Q&A session.

According to Dr. Aldredge, attendees of the virtual symposium will gain greater insight into the pathophysiology of psoriasis and learn how current pharmacotherapeutics can help control the disease.

“Understanding psoriasis pathophysiology will enable nurses to educate patients about their chronic disease states and treatment options,” said Dr. Aldredge.

DNA members are invited to attend the Virtual Psoriasis Symposium for $75, and nonmembers are able to attend for $125. Attendees are able to participate in one of two sessions — the event will be offered on November 10 from 8 am to 12 pm EST and again from 1 pm to 5 pm EST.
