The city of Lynchburg is seeking a progressive fire chief with extensive fire and EMS experience, including at least seven years at a high-ranking command level. Significant “boots on the ground” experience in both fire and EMS service delivery is critical. The successful applicant will possess the leadership and communications skills to articulate and implement a clear vision for fire and EMS services that reflects the values of honesty, integrity, trust, and compassion. A bachelor’s degree in fire science, fire administration, business, public administration, or a closely related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
