Ambulance Called After Calif. Chuck E. Cheese Patrons Attack Employees

March 28--One birthday party at an Ohio Chuck E. Cheese took a dark turn earlier this month after the photo booth malfunctioned.

One female party-goer complained about the machine to the manager, and the manager told her she had to wait.

According to the police, a male party attendee followed the manager into the kitchen, threatened to kill him and began attacking him, reports The Washington Post. Other employees tried to help their manager, which caused other partiers to attack the employees. The fight moved to the dining room area where children were feasting on pizza.

The incident left two managers seriously injured, according to police, and a total of six employees were hurt, including a female under the age of 18 who was hit in the face when dialing 911, according to The Post.

"I'm characterizing this as an attack on the employees of the restaurant by a mob of people," Parma Police Lt. Kevin Riley told The Post. "There is no evidence at this point to show otherwise. This was an unprovoked attack on a bunch of employees trying to do their job."

The adults fled the scene before police arrived, but the police released the surveillance video in an effort to track down the attackers.

One male employee told the 911 dispatcher, "I need cops, I need ambulances, I need everything."

In a statement after the attack in Ohio, Chuck E. Cheese said, "We take any incident in our stores very seriously and have spent more than $15 million to date on measures to help ensure the safety of our guests. With an environment dedicated to serving young children and families, we will not tolerate violence of any kind in our stores."

Talk about a not so happy birthday.
