REMSA is First Public Safety Communications Center to Achieve ACE Status With ECNS
The Academy is pleased to announce that Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA) in Reno, Nevada, USA, is the first public safety emergency communications center in the world to achieve Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) status with IAED’s Emergency Communication Nurse System (ECNS).
REMSA officially became an ECNS ACE on April 15, 2015.
A protocol-based nurse triage system, ECNS assists a communication center by providing alternative referral options to callers with non-life threatening symptoms, thus prioritizing and allocating scarce public safety resources for real emergencies. The ECNS operates for each Emergency Communication Nurse (ECN) in the comm. center through the Priority Solutions Inc. (PSI)-developed software LowCode, which is integrated into a center’s computer-aided dispatching infrastructure.
Congratulations to everyone at REMSA for achieving the first-ever ECNS ACE!
