Tennessee County Honors Agencies for Ice Storm Actions
April 30—Cumberland County Mayor Kenneth Carey Jr. and the Cumberland County Commission honored several agencies for their hard work, dedication and help to the residents of Cumberland County during the major ice storm in February.
A certificate of appreciation plaque was presented to Volunteer Energy Cooperative, Fairfield Glade Fire Department, Fairfield Glade Public Safety, Lake Tansi Security, Cumberland County Dispatch, Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency, Cumberland County EMS, Cumberland County Sheriff's Department, Cumberland County Fire Department and Cumberland County Rescue Squad.
The Cumberland County Highway Department was thanked later in the meeting by a county commissioner.
Allen Foster, 4th District commissioner, said, "I'd also like to honor the Cumberland County Highway Department for all their hard work, too."
County commissioners and those attending the meeting applauded the work of the county highway department as well.
