BRIEF: 82-year-old woman charged in crash that injured Hampton firefighter, police officer
Sept. 19--HAMPTON -- An 82-year-old woman was charged in a crash that injured four people, including a Hampton police officer and a firefighter, a police division spokeswoman said.
The crash happened Wednesday night at the intersection of Hampton Roads Center Parkway and Magruder Boulevard just after 6 p.m.
A police officer and a firefighter were responding to a two-vehicle accident when the driver of another car lost control and ran into a fire utility vehicle, a jeep and a marked police car at the scene, police spokesman Sgt. Jason Price said Wednesday.
Four people were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.
Regina E. Shortt, of the 200 block of Dunn Circle, was served with a summons for one count of reckless driving, police division spokeswoman Cpl. Mary Shackelford said Friday.
"Both the firefighter and police officer that were transported for minor injuries have since been treated and released from the hospital," she said.
