Mich. School Dedicates EMS Classroom to Teacher

By Monica Scott

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids schools leaders Monday, Sept. 16, announced they are dedicating the district's health sciences classroom "Life EMS" in honor of John English, the 20-year Life EMS Ambulance paramedic and district instructor who drowned this summer.

His family was present at the school board meeting where school officials discussed the plaque that will go outside the room of the Academy of Health Sciences and Technology.

For two years, English, 47, taught the capstone class at the academy that prepares students to be an ambulance driver and first-responder out of high school.
