Clinical Outcomes from RENASYS ™ EDGE Traditional Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System, a Next Generation Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Device utilized in North American Post-Acute Care Settings
The study evaluates the performance of the RENASYS™ EDGE negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) system in treating chronic and surgical wounds. Six patients with 13 wounds of varying etiology and complexity were retrospectively analyzed. The system demonstrated consistent improvements in wound healing, including tissue quality, area reduction, and volume reduction. Its innovative design features—enhancing usability, portability, and patient discretion—address clinical and operational barriers to NPWT. Outcomes included wound closure or significant improvement across all cases. The study highlights the system's efficacy and potential to streamline NPWT delivery in post-acute care settings, improving patient adherence and healthcare efficiency.
