2021 Mechanical NPWT Contest

WOUNDS has initiated a contest to solicit submission of case studies that involve use of mechanical negative pressure wound therapy (mNPWT). All wound care clinicians (eg, physicians, surgeons, nurses, physical therapists, podiatrists, and other health care professionals) are invited to submit their original case series and reports for consideration.

All manuscripts submitted for the mNPWT Case Compendium Contest will undergo the WOUNDS peer-review process, which comprises peer review and author revision; accepted manuscripts will be indexed in MEDLINE/PubMed and published online. Accepted manuscripts then will be judged and scored in a double-blinded review by 5 experts in the field. The 3 highest scoring articles will receive a cash prize awarded to their institution for a combined value of $6,500.

Submissions to the mNPWT are fast tracked through the peer review and, if applicable, publication processes (ie, time from initial submission to initial decision and time from acceptance to online publication.

This contest is sponsored by 3M.

Manuscript Submission

The mNPWT Case Compendium Contest aims to stimulate submission of retrospective case studies and case reports focused on the use and clinical value of mechanical NPWT. There is no fee to submit or publish an article with WOUNDS. All manuscript entries must be previously unpublished and not under review with another publication. Eligible entries must describe on-label use of mNPWT and can be in the form of case series and case reports.

All manuscripts must be submitted via Editorial Manager should not exceed 2,500 words (excluding Abstract, References, and Figures/Tables). Manuscripts will undergo a double-blinded peer review by 2 to 3 reviewers on the peer-review panel listed below. Authors can download the submission template here.
