The International Wound Infection Institute
Background: The International Wound Infection Institute (IWII) has members in excess of 2,000 globally and is an inclusive society, providing international perspective on the latest developments in wound infection. Membership of IWII is on a voluntary basis.
Mission: The objectives of the IWII are to provide up-to-date clinical information on the latest developments in wound infection, access to the Institute’s many wound infection experts, and drive new projects to understand and prevent wound infection. The primary mission is to provide education and resources to the greater community by providing current clinical information on the latest research and developments in wound infection and produces internationally recognized documents such as the review and extension of the TIME framework. The IWII’s team of international experts has published guidance documents including a recent update to the consensus document “Wound Infection in Clinical Practice: Principles of Best Practice”. IWII undertakes real world research that enhances health professionals knowledge to improve interventions for the end user.
This presentation will provide the participant with a summary of the IWII past and future initiatives which would be of interest to generalist as well as specialist health care professionals.
