Many Americans do not fully recognize the the role of physician PAs in the dermatology community. The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) recently released an informative video titled
“What is a Dermatology PA?” The video provides an informative glimpse into the role of PAs in dermatology practice and can be used in office waiting rooms and for general public education. This free video is available for download to practices who wish to incorporate it into their website or waiting room informational loops. "Educating patients about their provider and the dermatologist–PA team approach to their care is invaluable in all clinic settings, whether general or cosmetic dermatology or Mohs surgery," says Jennifer Conners, MPAS, PA-C, SDPA Director at Large and author of the SPDA column in this month's issue.
