New AAD President and Officers Take Office

March 2017

At the conclusion of the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) annual meeting, Henry W. Lim, MD, FAAD, in practice in Detroit, Michigan, took office as president of Academy. He will hold office for one year and also will hold the same position for the American Academy of Dermatology Association.

In addition, 1 officer and 4 new members of AAD's Board of Directors took office. Brian Berman, MD, PhD, FAAD, begins a 1-year term as vice president.    

 “A top priority will be positioning the specialty to meet the challenges of today’s complex health care environment,” said Dr. Lim. “Additional key areas of focus will be on enhancing the quality of patient care and promoting diversity in medicine.”

Incoming 4-year term members of the AAD’s Board of Directors include: Valerie D. Callender, MD, FAAD; Patricia K. Farris, MD, FAAD; Robert S. Kirsner, MD, PhD, FAAD, and Robert A. Weiss, MD, FAAD.
