The Technical Exhibit Hall (Halls D-H) will be open:
• Saturday, February 5 – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Electronic Poster Exhibits/ Poster Presentations in Hall E will be open:

There is a Cyber Center in Hall E and Lobby G for registrants to check emails. The center is scheduled to be open Thursday, February 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will then be open Friday, February 4 through Tuesday, February 8 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to the AAD’s program book, Wi-Fi will also be accessible in public lobbies during the meeting days.
A Look at Some Interesting Sessions
As vitamin D continues to be a hot topic in the news, you might want to attend focus session U013 Vitamin D and Dermatology. This session, directed by Tissa R. Hata, MD, will review what’s available in the literature about vitamin D and discuss the controversies regarding vitamin D and sunlight. This session will take place from 7:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on 2/4 in Room 235/236. (Ticket required/no tuition.)
A Hot Topics symposium (S003) will be directed by Kenneth J. Tomecki, MD. According to the program book, the topics highlighted in this session will be based on registrant consensus at the Annual Meeting. This interactive session will include discussions of issues affecting dermatology today. This session will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on 2/4 in Room Auditorium A. (Open admission.)
Also on Friday, Skin & Aging’s Chief Medical Editor Steven R. Feldman, MD, PhD, is presenting with Craig L. Leonardi, MD, and Henry W. Lim, MD, a forum, Psoriasis Guidelines: Implementing Them in Your Practice. This forum F023, directed by Alan Menter, MD, is described as a session designed to help physicians understand the new psoriasis guidelines through case-based presentations on topical therapy, phototherapy, systemic therapy and biologic therapy for psoriasis. Trying to decide if your practice would benefit from your involvement in social media? On Saturday, Jeffrey A. V. Benabio, MD, will direct a focus session U046 Social Media and Dermatology: How Twitter and Facebook Will Help You and Your Practice. Eric F. Bernstein, MD, will direct focus session U049 Avoiding Complications and Maximizing Results in Cutaneous Laser Surgery. According to the AAD Program, this workshop will address common pitfalls to avoid and offer tips for optimal treatment settings to obtain the best results. Also on Saturday, Susan H. Weinkle, MD, will direct course C020 Live Patient Demonstrations: Application of our Aesthetic Toolbox for the Treatment of Medical and Dermatologic Disorders. This live demonstration will include patient evaluation, treatment options and discussions about possible complications. This course will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on 2/5 in Room Auditorium B. The Acne and Rosacea symposium (S022), directed by Andrea L. Zaenglein, MD, will provide an update on what’s new in the diagnosis and management of these common conditions, including discussions about antibiotic resistance, isotretinoin, the role of lasers and new therapies. A focus session (U074) Eczema Centers: World Experiences will examine the impact of chronic skin disease on a quality of life and look at new trends toward “eczema centers” and “atopic schools,” which were created to help patients increase their knowledge about their disease. During focus session U0885 Emerging Laser and Aesthetic Technology, directed by M. Christine Lee, MD, attendees can learn about new technologies and their roles in today’s dermatologists’ offices. According to the AAD Program, one goal of this session is to help the attendee in his or her decision of choosing laser and aesthetic technology for his or her office. The Plenary Session (P151) will include talks from the current and incoming AAD Presidents and other award recipients, such as Clarence S. Livingood, MD, Award and Lectureship recipient Neil S. Prose, who will present “Cultivating Curiosity.” In addition to the talks by leading dermatologists, guest speakers James Carville and Mary Matalin will present “All's Fair: Love, War, and Politics,” a candid discussion about current hot topics in politics. Skin & Aging Editorial Board Member Robert L. Buka, MD, will direct focus session U092 Opening Your Own Practice: Blunders and Breakthroughs.
