Orthotics For Arthritis

   New orthotics may offer more options for patients dealing with arthritis.

   Footmaxx Orthotics introduces a line of orthotics which targets patients with arthritis-related complaints in the lower extremity. The company says the three orthotics, called Arthritic 1, Arthritic 2 and Arthritic 3, can be beneficial for patients with varying stages of arthritis.

   Arthritic 1 is for patients with early stage arthritis and is the most flexible and accommodative orthotic, according to the company. Footmaxx says Arthritic 2 provides some flexibility for patients with chronic arthritis.

   The company claims that Arthritic 3, which is for patients with the most acute cases of arthritis, offers a highly accommodative orthotic for support of an existing deformity.

   Footmaxx says its orthotics provide shock absorption, redistribute pressure away from arthritic areas and lesions, and reduce inflammation around the joints.

The Perfect Mold

   A new insole may improve shoe fit and provide therapeutic support for patients.

   Black DMP™ is an over-the-counter Trim-to-Fit® Premium Insole. This new insole features the Dynamic Molding Process™ that uses memory foam to mold to different types of feet, according to the manufacturer Superfeet Worldwide.

   Superfeet says the new insole may offer a unique solution for aging feet. The company says all Trim-to-Fit Premium Insoles are made with an Encapsulating Stabilizer System (ESS), which is comprised of a stabilizer cap and full-length foam to provide underfoot support while fitting in different types of footwear.

   Black DMP has three layers of foam for different purposes. The top layer is made of memory foam with anti-friction protection to prevent excessive foot motion, the middle layer adds more cushion and the bottom layer helps stabilize the foot.

Avoid Foot Anxiety

   A new foot fungus treatment may provide an inexpensive treatment option for an unsightly problem.

   Miranel™ AF is an over-the-counter antifungal treatment aimed at fungus around and under the infected toenail. Miranel combines the antifungal treatment with soothing ingredients such as tea tree oil, eucalyptus, menthol and camphor to soothe the patient, according to the manufacturer Humco.

   Humco says the product offers a combination of aggresive treatment and comfort. The company adds that Miranel’s main fungus fighting ingredient is 2% Miconazole Nitrate, which is approved by the FDA.
