A wound healing device just got a little bit better.
Building on its current VAC Therapy device, KCI unveiled its latest model with the VAC ®ATS (Advanced Therapy System). The new device features a large canister with 500cc of volume, and the new T.R.A.C. Pad that allows for efficient and simple dressing changes. Its T.R.A.C. (Therapeutic Regulated Accurate Care) technology monitors and maintains target pressure to ensure patient safety, says KCI.
The new VAC ATS aids in pain management and includes an “intensity” feature that allows the unit to draw larger dressings down quicker. The new model also features touch-screen operation for easy use and on-screen help for users.
The VACATS helps heal wounds such as dehisced wounds, acute/traumatic wounds, flaps and grafts, pressure ulcers, chronic wounds and diabetic ulcers. The new model is covered by Medicare B and managed care organizations for qualifying patients, according to KCI.
