Weeping dermatosis
Cutaneous infections
Open wounds must be covered with an appropriate dressing before the compression garment is put on.
Severely compromised skin sensibility and impaired sensitivity of the limb
Advanced peripheral neuropathy
Immobility (confinement to bed). Not recommended to wear during bed rest.
Conditions in which increased venous and lymphatic return is not desired.
Appropriate hygiene and skin care should be applied.
Appropriate footwear must be worn when walking to prevent falls.
Ill-fitting compression garments may cause constriction leading to, eg, skin necrosis, pressure ulcers, and pressure related peripheral nerve damage.
The attending physician decides whether compression in general can be applied to patients suffering from the following diseases: rheumatoid arthritis, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS, Morbus Sudeck) malignant lymphedema, gangrene.
Medical compression garments should only be used after consultation with your doctor or therapist and checked regularly by them on the appropriateness of your therapy, also considering age and health status.
Patient measurements should be taken by a trained person to ensure the correct product fit.
When re-ordering a garment after 6 months we recommend remeasuring the patient as the limb circumference might have changed.
If you notice discomfort, pain, numbness, changes in skin color, appearance of new wounds, or swelling during wear, stop using the product and contact your health care professional.
Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to this device should be reported to the manufacturer and the competent state authority.
Caution applicable for made-to-measure products:
Federal law (USA) restricts this device to sale by or on the order of physician.
A maximum storage period of up to 36 months applies for serial products. This is followed by a wearing period of not more than 6 months for the compression stocking. The expiry date for storage is printed on the package label with the symbol of an hourglass.
Made-to-measure products are products intended for immediate use and no expiry date for storage is indicated on these. Due to wear or slackening of the material, the medical efficacy can be guaranteed for a wearing period of 6 months at most both for serially produced sizes and made-to-measure products. This assumes correct handling (eg, product care, donning and doffing). Please protect your compression garments from direct exposure to sunlight, heat, and moisture. We recommend storage at room temperature. If the disease persists after 6 months, please consult your attending physician concerning the possible need of a new garment.
