Multimodality Imaging of Large Epicardial Hematoma After PCI

Video Supplement to “Large Epicardial Hematoma After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Multimodality Imaging" [March 2019 Clinical Images article by Desai, et al.]

An 87-year-old man with a history of CABG underwent cardiac catheterization for unstable angina; the procedure resulted in an epicardial hematoma, which manifested 30 minutes after the intervention. Review of angiogram after the diagnosis of hematoma showed deep distal positioning of a non-polymer jacketed wire, which is the most likely cause of the adverse outcome. Multimodality imaging was critical for the diagnosis and management of this patient, and is presented below.
