Modern Imaging Modalities for Crossing a Severely Stenotic Aortic Valve

Video supplement to “Insights From Modern Imaging and Catheter Wire Measurements in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement” by Roback, et al.

Prior studies have neither described methods for crossing a severely stenotic aortic valve in light of modern imaging modalities nor characterized a successful crossing. The following video series illustrates the successful crossing of 3 patients with horizontal heart, vertical heart, and normal heart (and corresponds to Figure 2 in the accompanying article). CTC distance = catheter-to-catheter distance; CTW = catheter-to-wire distance; TTCV = time to cross valve.
