Cardiac Imaging of Heavily Calcified LMCA Treated with RA and Intravascular Lithotripsy

Video Supplement to “Adjunctive Rotational Atherectomy and Intravascular Lithotripsy for Heavily Calcified Left Main Disease Via Radial Access,” April 2020 Clinical Images article by Macaya, et al.

Coronary angiography demonstrates severe distal left main disease in a patient with heavy concentric calcification extending into the left anterior descending and left circumflex arteries. Rotational atherectomy and lithotripsy were used to debulk plaque so that stenting could be performed. Follow-up OCT at 3 months confirmed excellent results.
