Videos From Expo: Back From the Brink

Just 15 years ago, the largest health system in the Southeast was on the verge of bankruptcy. But a heavy investment in EHRs, HIEs and integration turned Grady Health System around. In 2016, Grady was named “Most Wired” for five consecutive years by the American Hospital Association's (AHA) Health Forum.

“We’ve come a long way,” said Tamara Nilmeier, MHA, director of physician and ambulance revenue cycle at Grady Health System. Grady EMS is a hospital-based provider in Atlanta running 120,000 transports per year, and growing.

But it wasn’t always a smooth journey.

Hear a roundtable of representatives from Grady EMS explain how the system overcame its “pain points” of IT implementation, as well as expand into new regions and service lines, at the Data & Technology Summit at EMS World Expo 2017 in Las Vegas.
