“Data is my favorite four-letter word,” said Rob Lawrence, MCMI, chief operating officer of the Richmond (VA) Ambulance Authority, in the introduction to his session “Top 10 Technologies You Need to Transform into a High-performance EMS Agency,” part of the Data & Technology Summit at EMS World Expo 2017 in Las Vegas.

Lawrence outlined his favorite technologies, from FirstWatch to ePro to the Zoll Road Safety system, that help his agency operationalize data and improve the safety and competence of care among providers.

“[Acquiring] data and information, and analyzing it and turning it into intelligence, is an expensive outlay,” Lawrence said. “But at the end of the day it helps us achieve efficiency and effectiveness.”
