EMS World Expo 2022 will be held October 10–14 in Orlando, Florida.

This year is our third living in a COVID-19-affected world. For the last 2 years, EMS professionals have worked harder than ever to keep their communities safe while facing new and more difficult challenges. The good news is there now appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel, and in many places normalcy has returned. EMS World is proud to continue to provide you with the best evidence-based clinical information, while also keeping you up to date on all the other important issues and events shaping how you serve your community.

This year EMS World Expo received a record number of presentation submissions. Each was carefully reviewed and scored by multiple expert judges for relevance, accuracy, engagement, and importance to the profession. Many great presentations regretfully missed the cut, but one thing is certain: This year’s selections truly represent the best paramedicine and EMS have to offer.

You told us it’s important to hear from new and upcoming leaders and researchers as well as established experts. So alongside the world’s leading authorities, an exciting 25% of this year’s speakers will be new to EMS World Expo.

We’ve also realigned our conference tracks to better meet your diverse needs, as follows:

Fundamentals—For those new to the profession or coming full circle in their careers, we created this track to help master the core topics of paramedicine. Experts like Ken Bouvier, Jeff Jarvis, Scott DeBoer, and Tom Bouthillet will share their combined years of wisdom.

Clinical Paramedicine—Experts will discuss advances in clinical treatments and breakthroughs in areas like neuroprotective CPR, IV acetaminophen, LVO stroke management, pediatric sepsis, noncompressible hemorrhage, immersive cooling, and more.

Critical Care—In conjunction with FlightBridgeED we’ll have leading experts providing the best in critical care education. The 2-day preconference class will prepare you for success on the FP-C, CCP-C, or CFRN certifications or the CEU’s need for critical care recertification. Main conference topics will cover prehospital whole blood programs, traumatic brain injuries, state-of-the-art airway management, metabolic panel case studies, and other challenging issues.

Community Paramedicine—The National Association of Mobile Integrated Healthcare Providers returns for its popular Mobile Integrated Health Summit preconference. During the main conference other presentations will encompass topics like indigent care, Suboxone administration, mental health, paramedic prescribing, integration of social services, and providing for diverse cultures.

Health and Wellness—This year we’ve expanded this important topic into its own track. Along with our new Health and Wellness Pavilion, we’ll cover important topics that include healthy nutrition, living well as middle managers, yoga for EMS responders, improving clinician mental health, wellness programs, and optimal strategies for mitigating the risks of fatigue.

Leadership, Management, and Operations—The best leaders in the country—Steve Wirth, Ryan Greenberg, Ray Barishansky, Matt Zavadasky, and Rob Lawrence, to name a few—will share the benefit of their years of wisdom, experience, and evidence. Preconferences include the popular EMS Supervisor’s Leadership Academy 3.0, the War for Attention, and the Mind-set of Progress. Main conference presentations will discuss offload delays, the 2022 transformation update, public relations, and traditions that impede progress.

Education—Designed with the EMS educator in mind, instructor courses include the Handtevy Prehospital Instructor course, the Art and Science of Moulage Realism, and the Stop the Bleed Instructor course. Main conference presentations will provide you with the latest from the NREMT, on paramedicine bachelor’s degrees, and on successfully teaching difficult education topics.

Research—In conjunction with the Prehospital Care Research Forum at UCLA, EMS World Expo will again highlight the latest research from the field of paramedicine. Posters throughout the conference and guided poster walks will provide ready access. Main conference topics will discuss the latest updates with NEMSIS 3.5, getting your research accepted, and using evidence to drive meaningful change.

As always, EMS World Expo remains the best place to meet with colleagues, connect with experts, and experience the best in education and networking EMS has to offer. Its Exhibit Hall is one of the premier places in the world for access to the best manufacturers of medical supplies, devices, and equipment.

We look forward to seeing you again at EMS World Expo 2022. For those unable to make it to Orlando October 10–14, the main conference presentations will be available on-demand in Ally, EMS World’s online learning system for CAPCE-accredited CEU credits.
