Morristown (N.J.) Emergency Memorial Scholarships Announces Recipients

MORRISTOWN, NJ—The Board of Trustees of Morristown Emergency Memorial Scholarships announced August 18, 2021, a total award of $44,544 to 23 recipients.

Morristown Emergency Memorial Scholarships was founded in 2020 following the dissolution of the Morristown Ambulance Squad Inc., which had provided 58 years of dedicated volunteer service to the Town of Morristown.

The mission of Morristown Emergency Memorial Scholarships is to make modest annual grants and/or financial support to successful students pursuing careers in health or community care.

The award recipients include:

• 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, US Army Veteran, former volunteer EMT and current volunteer firefighter, completed MA Counseling Psychology at National University
• 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴, volunteer EMT since April 2010, pursuing M.D. at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University
• 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗺, volunteer EMT since May 2018 and also 2009 to 2016, pursuing DNP FNP Emergency Medicine at Rutgers University
• 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗗𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗮, volunteer EMT since September 2020, pursuing Biology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
• 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝘆𝗹𝗲, pursuing Masters in Forensic Psychology at George Washington University
• 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗞𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗿, former volunteer EMT with Morristown Ambulance Squad, completed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine
• 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝘇, volunteer EMT since December 2018, completed PA Program/Master's at Saint Elizabeth University
• 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮, volunteer First Responder: October 2018 to October 2019, completed MS Physician Assistant Studies at Saint Elizabeth University
• 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗟𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀, former volunteer with Morristown Ambulance Squad, completed Doctor of Medicine at Meharry Medical College
• 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮 𝗟𝘂𝗴𝗼, pursuing Nursing BSN at La Salle University
• 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝗴𝗼, pursuing Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University
• 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆, former volunteer EMT with Morristown Ambulance Squad, completed Doctor of Nursing Practice at Rutgers University
• 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿, volunteer EMT since August 2018, pursuing Nursing at Ramapo College
• 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗹𝘀𝗲𝗻, volunteer EMT since December 2018, pursuing Biological Sciences-Pre-Med Track at Louisiana State University
• 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿, pursuing Nursing at Fairleigh Dickinson University
• 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘄𝗲, former volunteer with Morristown Ambulance Squad, pursuing Family Nurse Practitioner at Ramapo College
• 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀, volunteer EMT since April 2012, pursuing Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine
• 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗸, volunteer EMT since January 2015, completed MS in Physician Assistant Studies at Seton Hall University
• 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗲𝘂𝘄𝗲𝗻, former volunteer EMT with Morristown Ambulance Squad, completed Doctor of Philosophy, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at University of Pennsylvania
• 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿, volunteer EMT August 2011 to August 2018, pursuing Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Saint Elizabeth University
• 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀, pursuing Bachelors of Social Work at Saint Elizabeth University

Two recipients have opted to remain private.

The above recipients were chosen based on their transcripts, many appearing on the Dean’s list as well as their dedication to the medical field they have chosen.

Morristown Emergency Memorial Scholarships anticipates the next application period to begin in January 2022.
