CAAS Accreditation Granted for Montgomery County EMS

Jenny Deam

Jan. 11--The Montgomery County Hospital District's Emergency Medical Services has been granted accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services, hospital district officials announced.

The accreditation process requires a detailed application process and on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services.

The selection makes the district one of only nine out of a total 175 systems in Texas to receive the designation. Nationally, 16,000 EMS systems earn the accreditation.

The EMS leaders used the accreditation process as a "road map to systematically evaluate every aspect of our organization to ensure we are prepared to meet the continued growth and provide a financially sustainable service to our citizens," Jared Cosper, director of the Montgomery County Hospital District EMS Montgomery County, said in a statement.
