Dec. 13--SOMERSWORTH -- The shores of Willand Pond became the backdrop Friday for a national commercial featuring American Ambulance.

The commercial is for Zoll Medical of Chelmsford, Mass., a company that supplies equipment to emergency responders.

While there was an actor, David Ledoux, of Lowell, Mass., playing the victim, the medical crew and the ambulance were the real deal.

American Ambulance of Somersworth provided one of their box trucks, along with Capt. Jim Kenney, medic Stephanie Lane and EMT Addinara Challinor.

Thaddeus Setla, the director and videographer, said his company Setla Films is based in Detroit. He said this was his first trip to New Hampshire and despite the cold he was really enjoying it.

"We did two days here and two in New Jersey," Setla said. "It has been great."

According to Setla it will take about two to three weeks to produce the commercial.

Charlotte Norton, Zoll senior manager of communications and marketing, and Koki Obara, Zoll and product line marketer, oversaw the shoot.

Norton said the commercial is for two types of transport ventilators, the AEV and EMV+. The devices are portable ventilators designed to provide breathing for a patient who is unable to breathe as they are being transported.

They parked the ambulance along the Dover side of the pond and shot various takes of the ambulance coming in, the ventilator units being deployed, as well as the patient being treated.

According to American Ambulance Chief Paul Robidas, the company competed for the privilege of being in the commercial.
