Mo. Ambulance District Increases Service, Training Fees
Oct. 22--WARRENSBURG -- The Johnson County Ambulance District board raised ambulance and training fees Thursday.
Fees for most ambulance services will increase 3 percent effective Jan. 1.
The board approved a recommendation from Chief Shane Lockard to increase rates that had not been increased since 2014.
Lockard said the increase will align fees and costs.
Fees for basic life support non-emergency service will increase from $400 to $412, and for BLS emergency calls, from $500 to $515.
Fees for advanced life support non-emergency calls will increase from $525 to $540, and for ALS 1 emergency calls, from $625 to $644.
The fee for ALS 2 transport will go up 2 percent, from $845 to $860, and for ALS care provided without transport will go up from $188 to $193.
The specialty care transport fee will remain the same at $995.
Dedicated standby fees will remain at $75 per hour for BLS and $100 per hour for ALS.
Ambulance transport mileage fee will increase from $12.25 to $12.30.
The board also approved increases in training fees, which Lockard said "are still far under" what other training entities charge.
He said increases are needed to cover costs.
Fees for most first aid, CPR, AED and certification classes will increase $5 to $10. The basic EMT course fee will increase from $850 to $925, and the emergency medical responder fee will increase from $1,200 to $1,500, plus the cost of books.
