CECBEMS Will Now Operate as CAPCE
The Continuing Education Coordinating Board for EMS (CECBEMS) will now operate as the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE).
The CECBEMS Board says the new name and identity more accurately represents the organization’s mission. “We had been considering a change for many years and felt that the name and logo change were important to better illustrate our purpose and our mission,” says Juan March, MD, FACEP, Chair of the Board.
The commission focuses on accreditation not coordination. This designation prompted the rebrand. After hiring a marketing partner to guide the process, the Board adopted CAPCE as its new moniker and made some exciting updates to the logo and overall aesthetic.
The new logo incorporates the Torch of Knowledge with the Star of Life. The addition of CAPCE's founding year preserves and builds upon the CAPCE legacy. A brighter color palette was used to symbolize CAPCE's mission of upholding industry standards for Continuing Education.
The change will officially take effect July 1, 2016.
