Fla. Woman Charged with Falsely Reporting Medical Emergency

Sept. 18--FORT WALTON BEACH -- A 44-year-old woman is accused of calling 911 to report a medical emergency that didn't exist.

Sheri Lynn Hunt called 911 on Sept. 8 to report that a man was having a medical emergency from being on crack cocaine, according to the arrest report. Additionally, she told 911 operators that the man was violent.

Fort Walton Beach Police officers noted that Hunt is known for habitually calling in false 911 reports and falsely accusing the man of violence, the report said. When responders arrived, the man was "coherent, not intoxicated and in no need of medical attention."

When officers spoke to Hunt, she said that the emergency was that the man drank too many alcoholic beverages and she didn't want him to, according to the report. When asked about cocaine, Hunt allegedly went into her own room and pulled out paraphernalia, claiming they belonged to the man.

The man said the items belonged to Hunt, the report said.

Hunt is charged with misuse of 911 and possession or use of drug paraphernalia.

Her next scheduled court date is Sept. 30.
