Wis. EMS Crew Witnesses Road Rage Stabbing, Transports Victim

A case of road rage Sunday night in Madison ended with a stabbing, police said.

The drivers of the two vehicles were arguing in the area of E. Washington Ave. and N. Blount St. about 8 p.m., and at one point, a female passenger in one vehicle spit at the other driver, a 30-year-old Watertown man, according to a Madison police incident report.

The Watertown man followed the other vehicle, pulled in front of it and forced it to stop. During the ensuing argument, the other driver, a 26-year-old man, stabbed the Watertown man, police said.

An ambulance was behind the two vehicles, and emergency responders observed the incident and took the Watertown man to a hospital for treatment of his stab wounds, police said. He is expected to survive.

The man and woman in the other car were arrested by Madison police on possible charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. The Journal Sentinel typically does not name suspects until they have been charged in court.
