Mo. Toddler Seriously Injured in Crash Wth Snow Plow
Jan. 06--A 20-month-old boy and his mother were injured in a head-on collision with a snow plow Monday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Alicca Williams, 24, of Easton, Mo., was driving south on State Highway C, near Kemmer Road, with her 20-month old son, Kiber Williams, when she lost control of her 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix on the snow-covered road, the Highway Patrol reported. The car skidded and struck a northbound Missouri Department of Transportation snow plow, driven by Everett Goddard, 54, of St. Joseph.
Ms. Wiliams' son was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, said Sgt. Corey Root with the Highway Patrol. Emergency responders also transported his mother to the hospital with minor injuries. Mr. Goddard was not injured in the accident.
Both Ms. Williams and Mr. Goddard were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. Kiber was not properly restrained in the vehicle, troopers reported.
The accident reconstruction team remained on the scene investigating the accident for more than three hours. Mr. Root said the accident remains under investigation.
