Police: Woman Punched Texas Paramedic in Groin

Ciara O'Rourke

Aug. 20--An Austin woman accused of punching a medic in the groin faces an assault on a public servant charge, court records show.

An arrest warrant on the third-degree felony charge was issued Monday for Cienna Iniguezcorlew, 23, according to records, but it was not immediately clear if she has been arrested.

Jail records showed she was not in custody Tuesday afternoon. Bail was set at $10,000.

On July 31, two paramedics responded to a 911 call involving Iniguezcorlew, who police said was verbally aggressive and insulting as she demanded that the medics take her to the hospital, according to the affidavit for her arrest.

She continued to be verbally aggressive on their way to the hospital, the affidavit says, and as they were backing into an ambulance bay with Iniguezcorlew on the stretcher, she started to tear at her seat belts. When they told her to get back on the stretcher, she started to punch at them, it said.

The medics physically restrained Iniguezcorlew as she kicked, screamed obscenities and threatened to sue them, the affidavit says. At one point, she was able to free her right arm, and one of the medics said she looked directly at him, and "then immediately down at his groin" before punching him once directly in the genitalia.
