Three Fla. Paramedics Injured in Crash

Aug. 09--Caregivers were the ones to receive care Friday after an official said three Lauderhill Fire-Rescue paramedics were injured in a crash in Plantation.

While responding to a call in Lauderhill, the paramedics' ambulance was rear-ended at 1 p.m. by a truck at Sunrise Boulevard and Northwest 47th Avenue, Lauderhill Fire-Rescue Division Chief Jeff Levy said.

Plantation Fire Rescue took the three paramedics to North Shore Medical Center-FMC Campus for neck and back pain, Levy said.

The other driver did not complain of injuries, according to Plantation Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Joel Gordon.

Police from Plantation and Lauderhill are investigating. The Lauderhill ambulance can be driven, but won't be used until it's repaired, Levy said.
