Maryland Firefighters Rescue Teen Stuck in Mud
PASADENA -- Anne Arundel County firefighters rescued a teenage boy who got stuck waist-high in some mud Friday afternoon in Pasadena.
Firefighters responded to Water Oak Point and Old Water Oak Point roads at 1:30 p.m. where they found the 15-year-old boy stuck in an area where water collects, said Division Chief Keith Swindle, fire department spokesman.
It took firefighters an hour to rescue the boy, who was taken by ambulance to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
He was being treated for hypothermia and for injuries caused by the mud compressing against his body, Swindle said.
Further details, including how why the teen was in the area and who called rescue personnel, were not immediately available.
